This World is Designed for You

I live in a world not designed for me.
It both haunts and intrigues, excites and exhausts.
My choice is to view and mourn what’s taken for granted.
A world where lights are soft, fabric is gentle, touch doesn’t hurt and sound doesn’t screech.
I live in your world, so I mask and hide, longing for a world my own.
Don’t assume a smile is happiness, don’t surmise we are all the same.
Some of us are in pain living in a world designed for you.
