To Christian or not to Christian is the question.
Well, the Olympics definitely went off with a bang this year. And I’m seeing something rather concerning coming from those who call themselves Christians. (and some of ya'll aren't going to like this one)
I’m seeing arguments by christians for the justification of what we saw regarding the “Last Supper” parody. A lot of defense of it and saying that it wasn't actually the Last Supper, so we need to chill out, and see it for the "artistic expression" that it was.
We Christians need to calm thy-selves down apparently, and of course, we need to be inclusive. Here’s a thought — You don’t like my stuff and are free to be vocal about it, I also have that same freedom.
For arguments sake, let's take religion out all together in this situation and just look at it from a human perspective - The whole thing was disgusting travesty. It doesn’t matter if it was blatant and intentional regarding the Last Supper, mixed in, or if it was “unintentional.” The whole thing was a disgusting display of what passes for a "norm" in society.
The only point should be that it was revolting in general and promoted identity labels, drag Queens, and the feast of the god Dionysus who is the god of wine, fertility, and revelry. It promoted sexuality, gluttony, and drunkenness. It was lewd and vulgar with intentional immodesty and sexuality in front of children…… Do I need to continue? If you call yourself a Christian and support any part of this, you need to seriously reevaluate your faith, other wise start removing that capital C.
There is no middle ground on this.
The only “middle ground” is the one you falsely make up in your head so you can do and live as you please. Stop defending this monstrosity of an artistic expression, there is no place for it in Christianity.
