Faithful Writers

I think more so, my mind should stay fixed on my Savior, the Author and Finisher of my Faith. The beauty of Who He is far more captivating than any of my five senses have beheld, albeit they’ve beheld much.

What we need is a story big enough to make sense of our longings and our losses. A story that’s not just emotionally satisfying, but actually true. That’s exactly what the Bible offers.

My story isn’t about choosing one tradition over another — it’s about finding the authentic spiritual path that allows me to connect with God in a way that speaks to my heart and mind. This journey, with all its complexities and revelations, continues to unfold.

Even the most radiant sunset cannot erase the weight of life’s struggles—but it can remind us of God’s enduring promise. Hope, though often tested by pain, is the flame that never dies. Rooted in Romans 5:3–5, this reflection invites us to see beyond despair, to embrace the Spirit’s strength, and to recognize that God’s hope will never disappoint.

If you leave, don’t get comfortable not seeking, don’t get comfortable being angry at your church, and don’t get comfortable slipping away from God. That is on you to seek His direction, that is on you to surrender the hurt you experienced to God, that is all on you, your free will in action. Joy is something else; it is deeper, it is anchored to your soul, not your heart. Joy allows a person to feel intense contentment and long-lasting happiness, no matter the situation they are in in life.

This is a Christian testimony of my child’s illness, told through raw and heartfelt poetry. A mother’s journey of faith, pain, and witnessing God’s strength in her warrior child.

Depression and Anxiety are real conditions, not a sin or a punishment. I’m here to reassure you that even some of the greatest people in the Bible suffered from Depression and Anxiety, and the Lord still wanted them for His work and more assuredly LOVED them despite their conditions and did not blame them for it.

As the claps get closer, I feel the panic rising, my heart races, and my body revolts. With each new clap, I’m dragged backward in time. I try to stop the fall. I kick and scream, flailing my arms out, but I’m not able to hold on to the here and now. I don’t want to go back there.

I’m more of a disco ball, or better yet, a “Lite Brite” because it is the gut-wrenching stab of each pain, grief, and horror-filled peg I’ve experienced that causes my light to show so colorfully through those particular breaks.

She’s read that God loves her, that Christ has set her free to live a victorious life over sin, so why does she keep blowing it? Her fist pounds the wobbly metal table, hoping the inanimate object will let out the scream she can not.

Most days now, I go around in my bathrobe, hair clipped up/sticking up, and my trusty water bottle in hand. You know how many people God has sent to me looking like that? It’s crazy, and they meet me as a real human.

Heaven's armies, a mother’s determination, and a friend’s encouragement are still at my side.

How I went from begging for answers to noticing the grace that was there all along

The kitchen that held so many Jesus jam sessions and dance parties with her roommate. So many conversations and tears where the two had talked about their dreams, futures, and curiosities about where God would take them.

He could be a single father stuck in a job he hates. She could be regretting her mistakes and can’t handle the guilt. Why have I never cared?

Then, in a moment of bitterness and anger, I just became weary of it all. I made a conscious choice and whispered the words “take captive my thoughts.”

There is a beautiful and reassuring aspect of the Psalms, we see the honesty and raw emotion of the writers when we read them. These writers did not hold back in expressing their true thoughts and feelings to God. 

Your life is forever intertwined with the person you are caring for. If you’ve been one or are one, you know exactly what I mean. Being a caregiver can be a whole other type of hell.

The trust involved with handling these big ole’ bowling pins getting tossed in the air heading straight for the bridge of my delicate nose or my one of a kind smile.
