When I’ve cried out to God for help, I realized I wasn’t always longing for holiness—I was longing for relief. Sometimes what we call repentance is really a desire to feel righteous again.

The Word of God has not moved. It sits where it always has, solid and unblinking, while a world swept up in new identities demands celebration. Behind the statistics are souls asking the real question: “Is the gospel big enough for me?” Yes. It always has been.

Repentance isn’t about beating yourself up or saying a quick “sorry” to God. It’s about laying your burdens at His feet, grieving sin, and letting His love transform your life.

Why can’t it be both? Maybe I’m wrong, but here are my thoughts. First, we are not puppets, we have free will to choose what we want.
