God isn’t looking for the qualified — He qualifies the ones He calls. Here’s why spiritual poverty is the starting point of real strength.

As a believer, there are no coincidences. There may be incidents and events that are tragic, difficult, or shameful — but no matter what, God always works them for good. I know this to be true in my life.

Worry never actually fixes anything, but we keep doing it like it’s our job, don’t we? Jesus talked about this and shared several practical solutions. They’re not deep theology. Just real, day-to-day stuff.

The Bible is filled with stories of people breaking out in song, dance, and worship. Give it a try, next time you get in your car, turn off the pop music, turn off the news, and find a Christian station, and just sing and worship.

Depression and Anxiety are real conditions, not a sin or a punishment. I’m here to reassure you that even some of the greatest people in the Bible suffered from Depression and Anxiety, and the Lord still wanted them for His work and more assuredly LOVED them despite their conditions and did not blame them for it.

I’m more of a disco ball, or better yet, a “Lite Brite” because it is the gut-wrenching stab of each pain, grief, and horror-filled peg I’ve experienced that causes my light to show so colorfully through those particular breaks.

Lot tried to offer up his daughters to be abused by the drunk men in town. Joseph was kidnapped and sold into slavery by his brothers. Job lost everything he owned, and almost everyone he loved. The woman at the well had been through five husbands and avoided everyone in town (it may not be explicitly written, but you can’t tell me there wasn’t pain there). Jesus was run out of town, beaten, mocked, mortally betrayed by his close friend, nailed to a cross and killed.

If you say you are a Christian yet whip out the Enochs, Maccabees, Gad the Seer, Wisdom, Tobit, Judith, etc, when trying to prove a view, doctrine, or use it to object to something in the Bible. You're not even on the right track to begin with. If you're not a believer and do this, then that’s a whole different conversation.

This verse has been used for centuries against women in the wrong way, now I’m talking about human nature, not God’s intention. The two are not mutually exclusive here; when it comes to understanding what this verse means, you have to go back to what God intended it to be, not what man has turned it into.

Sometimes, doing the right thing means stopping mid-argument and saying, “You’re right.” It means giving up the need to win. Or walking across the room when you’d rather stay in your little safe corner.

First, while it is true that only blood can atone for sin, sacrifices were also offered up for other reasons besides sin atonement. For example, sacrifices could be offered to express gratitude to God for all of His blessings.

As the world continues to get darker, it’s easy to get scared, to want to stay confined to the safety of our bubbles, and to be selfish with our time, effort, and money. But that’s not what we are called to do.

Most days now, I go around in my bathrobe, hair clipped up/sticking up, and my trusty water bottle in hand. You know how many people God has sent to me looking like that? It’s crazy, and they meet me as a real human.
