AI Policy

Unfortunately, I have to have a policy on this. Simply put, AI is not allowed here.

I understand that I won't always catch it every time because some programs are good at faking humans, and people tweak it to sound human instead of doing the work.

If I suspect AI usage either in whole or in part at any point, a submitted article won't be published and will lead to removal from this publication.

If I catch it after being published, I will simply remove all articles submitted by the writer, and the writer will be removed from this publication.

AI is also notorious for plagiarism, because that is what it does: copy real writers.

This will also get you removed immediately. It is one thing not to write your own work, but it is another to steal someone else's work.

Sources and quotes really are your best friend when writing.

AI-generated images are also not allowed; if a writer submits an article with an AI-generated image, it'll be removed, and the article will be published without an image. If this is done a second time, the writer will be removed. I will not be contacting the writer for a replacement image.

There is a huge selection of places online to get images. (Please source them, otherwise they won't be published either.)

Human brain and hand-created cartoons, illustrations, and artwork are also acceptable and MUST be sourced. If you are not sure, don't risk it and use it. There are plenty of free images online that can be used. Not only are we writers, we are creatives, and we should support and source other creatives.

Some of you may see some of my images used. I am an artist, and those images are created by me; they are not AI-generated.

Some sources for finding non-AI-generated images:

Unplash.com

Free Bible Images

Wikipedia.com

Pexels.com

Adobe Stock

*Clip Art- Careful. It used to be handcrafted, but now a lot is AI-generated. So check and source it.

If you're up for trying your hand at creating an image:

Photoshop is great, it's what I use to create my artwork, but it's not free.

Pixlr is a great free editing tool, where you can go in and have a lot of fun with a photograph.

When sourcing your own work, put your name in there or hit the Alt button and numbers 0169 at the same time to create the © symbol, then your name. You made it, so it belongs to you!

The writing part of AI-generated work is self-explanatory; the image part may be questionable at times, even I've had to double-check an image or two, and I've been an artist for years.

Ultimate rule of thumb - if a nonhuman created it, it's not allowed.
